Colline Teatine extra virgin olive oil
Colline Teatine PDO, a Chieti olive oil in two styles, Frentano and Vastese
Gentile di Chieti, Leccino, Moraiolo and Nebbio olives, harvested over two months from 20 October to 20 December, make an extra virgin oil whose fruitiness runs from gentle to bold. Two optional labels mark its styles: Frentano, grassy with a light bitter and peppery edge, and Vastese, with a hint of leaf.
- Green to golden in the glass; Frentano shows gilded highlights
- Strict rules: acidity up to 0.6, a panel score of 6.5 or more, polyphenols above 100 ppm
- Every pack carries a numbered guarantee seal and the harvest year on the label
How to enjoy it. Its aromatic taste suits careful dishes of meat, fish and vegetables; begin with a simple bruschetta. Keep it away from light and heat at 14-18 °C and enjoy it within six months of pressing.
