Tintilia del Molise
Tintilia del Molise DOC: a spicy red named after its own grape
Registered in 2011, this DOC is made from at least 95% Tintilia grapes, grown in the provinces of Campobasso and Isernia and turned into wine without leaving the region. Three styles show the same variety in different lights: Rosso, Rosso Riserva with two years of ageing, and Rosato.
- Deep ruby with violet glints, a vinous, spicy nose and a dry, rounded palate
- The Riserva ages for two years, turning garnet and spicier
- The Rosato is dry and fresh, with a delicate scent of fruit
How to enjoy it. Pour it with cheeses, cured meats and the mountain dishes of Molise. Try it with a caciocavallo risotto, where a Tintilia reduction goes into the dish as well.
