Fresh pasta, bread and pastry
Fruttone
Fruttone: shortcrust, almond and fruit preserve under a chocolate dome
The pasticciotto's different twin from Lecce: the same shortcrust, but instead of custard a filling of almond paste and pear, apricot or quince preserve. Once baked and cooled, it is coated in dark chocolate. In 1958 the writer De Sanctis praised it as a treat of chocolate and jam.
- A single-serving dome with a glossy, dark chocolate top
- Three textures in every bite: crumbly pastry, dense almond paste, fruit preserve
- The Dolce in Salento collective mark vouches for the right ingredients
How to enjoy it. Taste it beside the pasticciotto, its custard-filled twin, to catch the differences. In the Salento it is made all year round.
