Brindisi (wine)
Brindisi DOC: Negroamaro from just two towns, the port city and Mesagne
A compact appellation, rooted in the farmland between Brindisi and Mesagne and recognised since 1981. Its red rests on at least 70% Negroamaro, which Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and Susumaniello may join. White, rosé, two sparkling styles and a novello round out the range.
- Ruby red that turns brick-tinged with time, with firm tannins and fruit that lingers on the finish
- The Riserva ages for two years or more, adding spice and mineral notes to its ripe fruit
- A fresh, floral rosé and a savoury white scented with white-fleshed fruit and herbs
How to enjoy it. Reach for the rosé or the white when you want freshness, and for an aged red when you want its spice and minerality. It belongs on a table set with Puglia's home cooking.
