Bocconotto di Mormanno: a small oval of shortcrust with a jam heart
In Mormanno, in the province of Cosenza, they call it bucchinotto: a small oval of shortcrust pastry around a jam filling, baked in metal moulds. It is a sweet that belongs to one town, documented as early as 1955 and listed as a traditional agri-food product (PAT) of Calabria.
- An oval shape that comes from the metal moulds it bakes in
- A shortcrust shell filled with jam by the spoonful before baking
- Made only in Mormanno, the single town named by the Region
How to enjoy it. Small and often wrapped one by one, it is a sweet to enjoy just as it is, a single bocconotto at a time.
